Summer with Cousins

Over the fourth of July all of the Russell siblings were in town, except the Hubbles but we got home Sunday just in time to spend a few days with everyone. It is always so nice to get together with family,it was great to see Nathan and Brooke and all their children, we don't see them enough! It is time to wind down and enjoy the last month of summer, we are hoping to make it over to the beach for a few days before high school volleyball starts, Whitney is in Utah with Kyla for this week and Whitney & Sydney go to girls camp next week. It should be exciting for Syd her first experience at Big Meadow ( sorry sweetie, serious camping no showers,no beds, no bathrooms,no mess hall, no hot running water, just tents and dirt- but you will have fun:) I hope!)Matthew is doing football camp right now and loving every minute, he is a stud and he knows it :) haha

Busy Month

We started the month of June with a trip to Utah. We spent a day at Lagoon with Mckay,Christian & Kayla Feil & Kyla and her cute kids. we had lots of fun!! Then Josh and I spent 5 fabulous days at the St Regis in Laguna Niguel,we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary! It was the most amazing hotel we have ever seen or experienced we enjoyed massages, relaxation, shopping and lots of yummy food! Sydney spent a week in Utah and then went soccer camp for a week. Then it was off to Dallas for Volleyball,so the month just seemed to fly by.

Dallas Trip for Junior Olympics

We had a fabulous time in Dallas, Texas and it wasn't even that hot, which was surprisingly nice. Whitney and her team played great, the first 2 days the team had a mini meltdown and we lost 4 out of the 6 matches, but the last two days we beat everyone we played. We ended up getting 13th in the nation which is awesome by anyones standards,we are so proud of her and she played awesome. What a learning experience it was! The top 3 teams are teams we had beaten either throughout the club year or at the tournament, the team just didn't "bring it" those 1st 2 days but I am proud of them anyways! We had a blast!! But I am definitely enjoying the break from volleyball. Soccer is getting ready to kick up a notch, we have a tournament next weekend in Newport Beach!

To Utah Again!

We will be leaving on Saturday the 7th for another trip to Utah for Miley's blessing. We tried to fly but instead of booking the flights when they were $169 for a roundtrip ticket 2 weeks ago, like a dumbo I waited thinking I might find a cheaper flight and of course that was a dumb idea, the next day they had gone up to $209 and the prices are now over $300 for a roundtrip flight, believe it or not it is cheaper to drive even the way gas prices are. Our SUV gets 11 miles to the gallon, maybe 14 on the highway. So off we go, I hate that drive, I sure wish my 3 siblings in Utah would move closer to us :) But Josh and I try to make it to all of our neices and nephews blessings.( I think we missed a couple, I know Adanas cuz they were in Turkey) So we go! We will be back on the 12th, so blogging will be on hold till I get back. I will have some fun pics for everyone to see! Hopefully, I will see some extended family at the bbq on Sunday at the park while we are there.

It's Party Time

Last week began with a swim party on memorial day. Then we had parties for Sydney and Matthew on consecutive days Wednesday and Thursday. Then Friday we had our ward luau party that josh and I were in charge of, and finally..... a party to end the school year for Whitney on Saturday! It was a busy week indeed for our family, but we had a good time with it all! The kids and their friends all enjoy the pool and we enjoy sharing it!

Hooray.... Schools Out for Summer

The kids got out of school last wednesday here are a few pics of them!

Anniversary Update

Have you seen airfare prices? We are still going to Hawaii!! Just not this month, we will be going in October when airfare drops again. LOL instead Josh and I will probably head up to Pebble Beach and enjoy the cool weather up there for awhile. Besides they have one of the best Spas in the US. A little rest and relaxation will be nice, and a little golf for Josh too! Kyla, you and Reggie have some more time to plan for Hawaii, do not even consider bailing on this one. That is plenty of time!
