The Secret Life Of Bees

If you haven't seen this movie I suggest you do!  The Hubble Gals got together for a great movie and a little bonding the other night.  Whitney and Sydney even loved it too!  It is so nice to enjoy a movie with my daughters, they cried too.  Thanks for the call aunt I, Cindy, Vickie, Grandma Emma and Jamie, all went as well.  I read the book about 5 years ago and the movie was pretty darn close, in my opinion,  and the characters were portrayed very well by the actresses in the movie, the character who played May was my favorite!  GO SEE IT!!

Finally got a Mac!

Not a big mac, we just bought our 1st  Apple Mac computer.  Josh's old PC bit the dust, and I have been bugging him to get a Mac.  So the last time we were down in LA at the Mac store I convinced him,  they are such amazing computers,  I can't believe we didn't get one sooner!  Anyways, the screen is absolutely retarded 24" it's huge, and no silly motherboard tower.(extra space in the office cupboard for more stuff)  We Love it! :)

Brace Faces

Sydney got her braces on her top teeth last week, now we have 2 darling daughters with braces!  Can you say expensive?  It will  be worth it later and I know they will appreciate it!

INTRODUCING...VICE PRESIDENT MATTHEW HUBBLE

Look out Sarah Palin! (we do love her though) Okay, do we have a politician in our midst, his speech was hilarious and he rocked the Centennial Elementary cafeteria. 5th graders aren't allowed to run for President so he decided to run for VP and he won! It takes guts to stand up and give a speech in front of a packed cafeteria and Matthew was quite humorous we have his speech on video if I can get it transferred to a cd I will post it. But in the meantime enjoy the pics...he insisted on the suit which was perfect. We had the whole family there to support him plus a few of the girls friends, it was great!!

Oops... Do I have a blog?

So I guess the blogging got put on the back burner for a while. The Hubbles are still going strong, the kids have been in school for 3 weeks already. Whitney is a sophomore, Sydney just began 7th grade and Matthew is a 5th grader. We are getting ready to start league play for both soccer and football, look for some posts about that later... in the meantime here are some pics of the kids and their first day of school. Sydney started junior high and of course she had to go to school w/ her best buds, Laney & Brea. :) Oh and Whitney wasn't done with her makeup thats why she looks pale haha!

Summer with Cousins

Over the fourth of July all of the Russell siblings were in town, except the Hubbles but we got home Sunday just in time to spend a few days with everyone. It is always so nice to get together with family,it was great to see Nathan and Brooke and all their children, we don't see them enough! It is time to wind down and enjoy the last month of summer, we are hoping to make it over to the beach for a few days before high school volleyball starts, Whitney is in Utah with Kyla for this week and Whitney & Sydney go to girls camp next week. It should be exciting for Syd her first experience at Big Meadow ( sorry sweetie, serious camping no showers,no beds, no bathrooms,no mess hall, no hot running water, just tents and dirt- but you will have fun:) I hope!)Matthew is doing football camp right now and loving every minute, he is a stud and he knows it :) haha

Busy Month

We started the month of June with a trip to Utah. We spent a day at Lagoon with Mckay,Christian & Kayla Feil & Kyla and her cute kids. we had lots of fun!! Then Josh and I spent 5 fabulous days at the St Regis in Laguna Niguel,we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary! It was the most amazing hotel we have ever seen or experienced we enjoyed massages, relaxation, shopping and lots of yummy food! Sydney spent a week in Utah and then went soccer camp for a week. Then it was off to Dallas for Volleyball,so the month just seemed to fly by.

Dallas Trip for Junior Olympics

We had a fabulous time in Dallas, Texas and it wasn't even that hot, which was surprisingly nice. Whitney and her team played great, the first 2 days the team had a mini meltdown and we lost 4 out of the 6 matches, but the last two days we beat everyone we played. We ended up getting 13th in the nation which is awesome by anyones standards,we are so proud of her and she played awesome. What a learning experience it was! The top 3 teams are teams we had beaten either throughout the club year or at the tournament, the team just didn't "bring it" those 1st 2 days but I am proud of them anyways! We had a blast!! But I am definitely enjoying the break from volleyball. Soccer is getting ready to kick up a notch, we have a tournament next weekend in Newport Beach!

To Utah Again!

We will be leaving on Saturday the 7th for another trip to Utah for Miley's blessing. We tried to fly but instead of booking the flights when they were $169 for a roundtrip ticket 2 weeks ago, like a dumbo I waited thinking I might find a cheaper flight and of course that was a dumb idea, the next day they had gone up to $209 and the prices are now over $300 for a roundtrip flight, believe it or not it is cheaper to drive even the way gas prices are. Our SUV gets 11 miles to the gallon, maybe 14 on the highway. So off we go, I hate that drive, I sure wish my 3 siblings in Utah would move closer to us :) But Josh and I try to make it to all of our neices and nephews blessings.( I think we missed a couple, I know Adanas cuz they were in Turkey) So we go! We will be back on the 12th, so blogging will be on hold till I get back. I will have some fun pics for everyone to see! Hopefully, I will see some extended family at the bbq on Sunday at the park while we are there.

It's Party Time

Last week began with a swim party on memorial day. Then we had parties for Sydney and Matthew on consecutive days Wednesday and Thursday. Then Friday we had our ward luau party that josh and I were in charge of, and finally..... a party to end the school year for Whitney on Saturday! It was a busy week indeed for our family, but we had a good time with it all! The kids and their friends all enjoy the pool and we enjoy sharing it!

Hooray.... Schools Out for Summer

The kids got out of school last wednesday here are a few pics of them!

Anniversary Update

Have you seen airfare prices? We are still going to Hawaii!! Just not this month, we will be going in October when airfare drops again. LOL instead Josh and I will probably head up to Pebble Beach and enjoy the cool weather up there for awhile. Besides they have one of the best Spas in the US. A little rest and relaxation will be nice, and a little golf for Josh too! Kyla, you and Reggie have some more time to plan for Hawaii, do not even consider bailing on this one. That is plenty of time!

CAN"T WAIT

Okay, On June 19, 2008 Josh and I will be celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary!

In celebration of this wonderful event, we are going back to Hawaii, this time to the Big Island, we have never been to that Island. Josh has a friend in Palo Alto,CA who is a contractor and he is good friends with Steve Young, the NFL quarterback, yah, anyways, they own a condo in Kona and Josh worked out a trade, its a 3 bedroom posh condo with all the extras. Yippee! the countdown is on! Kyla And Reggie hopefully will be joining us, no pressure Kyla!!! This picture is from our December trip to Kauai, where we own our timeshare,we took the kids and had a blast!!

Mothers day Pics

So I found some pics on Mothers day of the kids! Me...happy mom! We were at Joshs dads house and took some pics with the Hubble side of the family, my parents were in Scotland. Matthew looks a little surprised! :)

Whats going On

Since everything we do in life revolves around our kids I thought I'd let you know whats going on. Well Whitney if she isnt playing volleyball, is a typical teenager. This weekend we will travel down to LA somewhere and play in the regionals vb tournament, her club team is currently ranked #2 in all of southern California, which is usually the toughest region in the nation. Every tournament is played down in Anaheim,CA so we travel alot. Whitney is on a traveling Club Volleyball team and Sydney is on a travel Club soccer team. Whitney plays outside hitter and loves it. In the month of March thru April we had 5 consecutive tournaments for either VB or Soccer. We traveled from San Diego to Vegas To Reno,NVand back down to Anaheim . Yikes...miles on the SUV and gas geez!! Well all of the traveling has been worth it considering no Club Volleyball team in Bakersfeild has ever qualified for the Junior Olympics... which is where we are headed this summer,to Dallas, TX for the JUNIOR OLYMPICS. Our team has a pretty good shot at winning. There are 28 teams in the United States and Puerto Rico who have earned a spot to play with the BEST in the NATION, so we are totally excited to go and watch whitney play. As for Sydney she continues to kick butt...literally in soccer, she has been lucky enough to be on the best soccer team in Bakersfield in her age group, she plays midfielder and little miss Sydney is so passionate about soccer I never have to remind her to get ready for practice or her trainer she is always ready to go at least a half hour early. She is so driven and self motivated which makes it nice for me. Her team is currently ranked #7 in all of California and #41 in the nation. They are both good students and excel in sports. It really is fun to be a part of something big for both of them. Little Matthew is still too young for club anything but he absolutely loves football and will play for a league here in town this fall. right now he is getting ready to start a Golf Academy and learn the game of golf, Josh is totally excited for him to get into the game so they can play together. As for Josh And I we are totally into watching Basketball right now GO LAKERS!!!! :)
